AlphaTrack Quote

“Love the product. Once tracks are in the hard-disk world, there’s no need for a large console or large format mixing control surface. The AlphaTrack has been exactly what I have been needing for sometime now!”

AlphaTrack and REAPER

Reaper Screenshot

Every now and then a good thing gets better. Reaper, the popular DAW software from Cockos, has been updated to version 2.0, and now includes native support for AlphaTrack. AlphaTrack brings an accurate 100mm, motorized, touch-sensitive fader, along with built-in LCD display, and a wealth of standard recording features in a compact and portable package. Record and mix your tracks, edit plug-in parameters, or program up to 8 functions of your own from Reapers long list of available commands. And like Reaper, AlphaTrack is both powerful and very affordable. Together they make an unbeatable combination for budding home studios and professional musicians alike.

‘Native Mode’ support of AlphaTrack is quick to set up, and easy to use. Simply open Reaper Preferences and select Control Surfaces. Click ADD to open the Control Surface Settings panel, set the mode to AlphaTrack, and both MIDI input and output to AlphaTrack as well. That’s it, you are ready to go.

Reaper Setup

There are two .PDF documents created specifically for Reaper and AlphaTrack users available from the FDG website.

The first, Reaper Guide, contains detailed instructions for configuring the AlphaTrack for use with Reaper, and a reference chart listing the complete feature set for Reaper as well.

The second file, Reaper Layout, is a single page picture of the AlphaTrack with overlaid text also summarizing the Reaper feature set. It may be helpful to print this file and have it handy as a quick reference guide.
