AlphaTrack and Digital Performer
Finally, a mix and edit controller that doesn’t exhaust your studio space or budget! AlphaTrack packs an amazing amount of tactile control in a compact package that works even better than it looks. A dedicated control plug-in allows easy updates.
With its touch-sensitive, 100mm, hi-resolution (full 10-bit) motorized fader, 3 touch-sensitive encoders and innovative touch strip, all linked to an integrated LCD display, AlphaTrack boasts features that are normally found in much more expensive hardware. Add to that a full transport section and 17 other multi-function buttons and it’s hard to believe AlphaTrack fits easily alongside your mouse and keypad. Our native mode plug-in for Digital Performer lets you edit EQs, Sends, Plug-Ins, Automation and more, as well as program up to 8 functions from the Digital Performer “Commands” menu for truly customized control.
Setting up Digital Performer to use AlphaTrack is easy. After installing the basic AlphaTrack drivers, copy the AlphaTrackDPUB.bundle file into the MOTU Control Surface folder, and set AlphaTrack for ‘Native’ mode operation. Add the AlphaTrack to DP’s Control Surface setup panel and you’re ready to go.
On the Frontier Design Group website or your AlphaTrack CD, you’ll find two documents with information specifically for DP users. You will find the latest versions of the documents on the AlphaTrack downloads page.
The first, Digital Performer Guide contains detailed instructions for configuring and using AlphaTrack with DP, along with information about how to use some of AlphaTrack’s advanced features.
The second file, Digital Performer Layout is a single page picture of the AlphaTrack controller with overlaid text summarizing the DP feature set. It may be helpful to print this file and have it handy as a quick reference guide.
