Thanks for the reply, but it seems neither of them are compatible with my cheap DAW anyway. For the record though, it's mainly guitar, doesn't the touch sensitive pad on the Alphatrack scroll through the track/ project?

Ouch! real shame too, as I've been talking myself into buying the Alphatrack for the past few days. Sonys offer to upgrade to pro has just ended too. I guess it makes my other question irrelevant aswell.

The alphatrack is sold as a mixer/ editor and the Tranzport as the recorder (only wireless). I can't afford both, but my question is does the Alphatrack do everything that the Tranzport does and more?

I only own the cut down version of Sony Acid Pro 7 called Sony Acid Studio 7. Is the alphatrack and Tranzport compatible with this cheaper DAW?

I guess it will be, but it'd be an expensive mistake to make.
