Hi strat,

If the AlphaTrack doesn't show up in the list for when you try to add a remote device then that means that it can't locate the plug-in.

So I would make sure that you have the correct plug-ins in the respective 'components' folder.

You mentioned 32 and 64-Bit plug-ins, is it possible that you have the 64-Bit plug-in in the 32-Bit version's components folder?

Try both versions of Nuendo (32 and 64) and check to see if 'AlphaTrack' shows up in the remote devices list.  If it doesn't, close Nuendo and switch those two plug-ins and try again.

Hi David,

I have created a folder in my inbox for customers who have emailed us about Windows 7 support for our line of cards. When I get any news (hopefully good news) I will reply to everyone who has contacted us via email with a reply.  I will also try and respond to each post on the forum with any news on the subject.

I'm not sure how the AlphaTrack would be affected by a USB3 USB hub.  So for the time being I would use what works (USB 2 port on your computer).

As for Nuendo not recognizing the AlphaTrack...I don't see anywhere that you mention going to devices/device setup and then clicking on 'remote devices' and then clicking on the (+) button to access all the available remote devices that you can add to Nuendo.  Once you select AlphaTrack from the list, you'll need to set the 'Midi Input' and 'Midi Output' fields to 'AlphaTrack' as well.

In other words, it won't just show up in remote devices, you have to manually add the device.  If the plug-ins are placed in the proper folders the AlphaTrack should show up in a list of available devices.  If the plug-ins aren't set properly then the AlphaTrack won't show up in that list.

Try this and you should be all set to go.

If you go to the "control panel" and go to "system" and go to "hardware/device manage" does the AlphaTrack show up in "sound, video and game controllers"?  There should be two listings: one for 'AlphaTrack' and another for 'AlphaTrack WDM Interface'.

Are you plugged directly into one of your computer's USB ports or are you connected to a USB hub?

How did you "reset" the AlphaTrack?

Did you make sure that the AlphaTrack was unplugged prior to installing the latest drivers?  Also, make sure that the AlphaTrack CD that came in the box isn't in your cd drive while your installing drivers off our site.

Hi strat1376,

Just to confirm, did you get the latest drivers here:

http://frontierdesign.com/Products/AlphaTrack/Downloads

And did you make sure that your AlphaTrack was unplugged when you installed the drivers?  If you're not sure then you can just reinstall the drivers with the AlphaTrack unplugged to make sure.

Also, what do you mean when you say "every time I try to load it"?

As for the AlphaTrack not working in Nuendo, it's probably because you need the AlphaTrack/Nuendo plug-in placed in Nuendo's 'components' folder for both versions (32 and 64).  You can get that plug-in at the same link above.  But first we should get to the bottom of why your computer is having issues with the AlphaTrack.

Hi All,

Sorry for the delay in response. The release of the 64-Bit mac driver is expected to be sometime around September/early fall.  So hopefully just a few more weeks.

Hi mattlok,

We're doing what we can to make this happen but what I don't understand is how you can get the Dakota to work in 32-Bit Windows 7 but not in 64-Bit Windows 7.  Can you explain exactly what works in one version (32-Bit) and what doesn't work in the other version (64-Bit)?

If you used the Dakota's 32-Bit Vista drivers for Windows 7 32-Bit and can get it to work did you make sure to use the Dakota's 64-Bit Vista drivers for your 64-Bit version of Windows 7?

http://frontierdesign.com/Products/Dakota/Downloads

I guess what I'm getting at is if you can get the 32 bit version to work then you should be able to get the 64-bit version to work.

Hi Axiom,

Can you send a screenshot of the downloads page where you're downloading the plug-in and also a screenshot of the error message and send it to support@frontierdesign.com?

There are 2 TranzPort/Sonar plug-ins on that page one is called

"Sonar 32-Bit TranzPort plug-in"

and the other is called

"SONAR v1.3.1 Plug-in Installer (for 64-bit SONAR only)"

Which one are you downloading?

CS

Hi mrtomcat,

The 32-Bit 1.07 dll that says 1.05 in the properties is actually not a problem.

Does everything seem to be working properly now?

CS

Hi Axiom,

Are you able to download anything else from that site?  Are you saying that after you download the zip file that its file size is zero?  It should be about 475KB.

Also, let me know what browser you're using.  You may want to try a different browser or try emptying your cache and try again.

Hi wynnsong,

With the Dakota plugged into your Win7 machine did you try going to the Device Manager and select 'uninstall drivers'?

Hi Axiom,

Go to:

http://frontierdesign.com/Products/TranzPort/Downloads

Scroll down to the 'plug-ins' section and you'll see:

"SONAR v1.3.1 Plug-in Installer (for 64-bit SONAR only)"

click on the link to download the installer, unzip/extract the file and then you should launch the installer which should be similar to the driver installer only it should install just the Sonar plug-in into Sonar's shared surfaces folder.

I just tried it and it appears to work fine here.

First, I would make sure that you launch ProTools by right clicking on the icon and selecting 'Run as Administrator'.

Of course prior to launching ProTools you should make sure the TranzPort manager's icon is set to 'HUI' mode.

Once in ProTools go to setup/peripherals and click on the 'midi controllers' tab and make sure that the "TYPE" is set to "HUI" and that the "SEND TO" and "RECEIVE FROM" are both set to "TRANZPORT".

No, they shouldn't interfere with each other at all.  We've had multiple TranzPorts in use in close proximity and never had any problems.

CS

Hi Axiom,

Where are you trying to download a 64-Bit Sonar plug-in?  It should be a plug-in installer (an executable) not just a plug-in.  So you should download the installer and then unzip it and extract it and then you should run the installer which should automatically place a 64-Bit plug-in into Sonar's shared surfaces folder.

Hi mrtomcat,

I just replied to an earlier post of yours and suggested trying to go to Cubase/Preferences/Project and Mixer and making sure that the 'sync project and mixer selection' box was checked.

I thought that the 32-Bit Cubase plug-in was for 32-Bit version of Cubase and the 64-Bit Cubase plug-in was for the 64-Bit version of Cubase.

It would be interesting to know if you couldn't get the 32-Bit version of Cubase to work with the 32-Bit version of the AlphaTrack plug-in.

Hi mrtomcat and absolutereality,

It's possible that upgrading erased your Cubase preferences.  So try going to Cubase/Preferences and go to 'Project & Mixer' and make sure that the 'Sync Project and Mixer Selection' box is checked.

If it already was, let me know and we'll try something else.

Hi,

The Windows 7 updates have taken the back burner the past several months but recently there has been an effort to get this going.  Still no promises but there has been some progress.  The blue screen issue appears to be taken care of but there remains a 24-Bit WDM problem that we would like to take care of before an official driver release.

Hi Axiom,

Unfortunately only one TranzPort can be paired with a USB transceiver at a time.  The only other option (since you have 2 computers and 2 TranzPorts) is to link one TranzPort to one computer and the other TranzPort to the other computer.  But it sounds like this is less convenient for your application.

Hi stevestooch,

If you're confident the drivers installed correctly I'd just make sure that the TranzPort is configured properly in your friend's recording application.

What recording application is he using?

Hi rostiroks,

The TranzPort has been discontinued so it may become harder to find as time goes on.  You may want to check with our sales manager (Roseanne) at roseanne@frontierdesign.com to see if she can locate one for you.

Hi madvek,

It's possible you have an earlier version of the user's guide.

Here's the latest:

http://frontierdesign.com/download/pdf/ … k_v1.2.pdf

'Control Surface' should be set to 'Mackie Control'

The AlphaTrack manager's icon should be set to "Live MCU" BEFORE you launch Ableton Live.

Hi t3,

The TranzPorts have been discontinued so they may become harder and harder to find.  You might want to try contacting our sales manager (Roseanne) and see if she can locate you a TranzPort somewhere.  She once had a list of US retailers with TranzPort stock.  I'm not sure if it will help but it can't hurt.  Her email is roseanne@frontierdesign.com

Hi bomckenzie,

Do you have a 64-Bit OS?  If so, does your 64-Bit version of Sonar work with the AlphaTrack?
