Topic: Cable to attach the Sierra unit to the Dakota

A long time ago I had contacted Frontier Designs for a cable, as I had bought two Sierra's 2nd hand.  They didn't have cables.  There weren't any available so I was give several alternates, but they didn't seem to work.  What is the pinout for the cable between the Sierra and the Dakota sound card?

Is this part available in stock now?  There's a guy selling a bunch of these on eBay again...and without cables.

Re: Cable to attach the Sierra unit to the Dakota

I have purchased these cables from the following Ebay Store before and they have worked for us.

http://stores.ebay.com/Kraydads-Cables- … uter-Stuff

On the left side of the page under "Store Search" type in Imagewriter" hit 'search' and it should be the last product on the list for $2.99. There are two types of these cables a 'straight through' and a 'crossover' cable. The Dakota/Sierra cables need to be the 'crossover' style. I've emailed the store and confirmed that these are the crossover style.

The crossover pinout looks like this (if you were looking at each end of the cable):

1 2 3             3 2 1
4 5 6   -----   6 5 4
  7 8                8 7

Re: Cable to attach the Sierra unit to the Dakota

Thanks for the post.  Lost my cable in a self-induced studio tornado.
