Topic: Final Cut Pro

Hi everyone ... found info that the AlphaTrack is supported in FCP now so I thought for fun I'd give the Tranzport a shot, and lo and behold, it's not fully functional, but if you set it up as a control surface (Mackie) and you leave the audio mixer window open ... it works!  At least as far as the jog wheel, play, stop, FF, Rew, etc.  Haven't had a chance to play around with it much more than that.

Any chance that we'll see an official FCP plugin for it -- especiall now that Frontier has worked it out for the AlphaTrack?  I'd love to be able to have a native FCP setup for my Tranzport, as I'm sure others would as well!

Re: Final Cut Pro

Well I can't make any promises but I will certainly enter it into the "Wishlist". Glad to hear that you have sorted out some basic functionality in the meantime..

Thanks CS :)  I'm sure there are more users than I that would welcome this addition if it's doable.

Re: Final Cut Pro

Yes Please - I'm one, but please sort out Logic 9 and Snow Leopard drivers first...Thx.

Re: Final Cut Pro

Hi chez,

The AlphaTrack and TranzPort should work pretty seamlessly in Logic 9 and in Snow Leopard.  The only issue is there aren't yet any 64-Bit drivers for the mac.  All macs are defaulted to 32-Bit and to 'switch over' to 64-Bit requires an intentional effort to do so which has been a low percentage of users however it appears that the number of 64-Bit users is rising.  We've recently discussed this issue and expect a more definitive answer in the coming weeks.  I hope this post will suffice until then.

If you are having non-64-Bit related Logic 9/Snow Leopard issues then you may want to contact support@frontierdesign.com to see if they can help in any way.
