Topic: The Touchrelease of the Alphatrack

Hello everybody, my first post.
I reserched the forum regarding this annoying issue, but could't find any Topic.
THE release of the Alphatrack is way too long, regardless which DAW.

Does nobody struggle with that?

Kind regards,

Markus

Re: The Touchrelease of the Alphatrack

what exactly do you mean with 'release'?

Re: The Touchrelease of the Alphatrack

You can call it touch off. If you release the fader it takes too much time this "touch off" is sent to the DAW.
The result of this behaviour is a too long written curve in the DAW.

Re: The Touchrelease of the Alphatrack

Hi miraclegyrlz,

Welcome to the forum.  First a few questions...

What programs are you using with the AlphaTrack?
What kind of computer are you using and what version OS?
Can you give me a specific example of this so that I can try to reproduce it here? (include which program you're using and a simple example of this issue.
If you press and hold shift+stop (on the AlphaTrack) and then touch the right encoder what version pops up on the AlphaTrack's LCD? (this is the firmware version).

Also...try pressing shift+stop+f4 to recalibrate your AlphaTrack's touch circuitry to see if that helps at all.

Re: The Touchrelease of the Alphatrack

My DAW's are Samplitude 11 Pro and PT8 M-Powered, WIN XP SP2, Q6600 with an Asus P5K Premium.

Write a volume automation in touch mode and look what happen when the fader is released. I can clearly see it in the midi status led in the transport console. The "touch off" sent to the DAW is way too late.

Re: The Touchrelease of the Alphatrack

Unfortunately I'm at home, so no alphatrack here.
I will try that tommorow.

THX for trying to help me.
I appreciate your input very much!

Re: The Touchrelease of the Alphatrack

Ok, i recalibrated the alphatrack, but no change.
The Alphatrack shows firmware version V1.00.
I'm  using the latest driver.

Re: The Touchrelease of the Alphatrack

Hi miraclegyrlz,

That firmware version is from the first build of AlphaTracks.  After that first build we updated the firmware to 1.01 which fixes this issue.  Unfortunately we have to do the firmware update here so if you want to send the AlphaTrack in to us we can update the firmware for free.

Send support@frontierdesign.com an email and they can hook you up with an RMA number and instructions for sending it in for a firmware update.
