Hi there, looked around the forums for a solution but did't see anything so here goes...

I had my footswitch punch-in/punch-out funtions working just fine with Alphatrack in Logic 8 using a Boss FS-5U momentary footswitch.

The control surface functions were all working normally as well after my upgrade to Logic 9 (and an reinstall/upgarde of Alphatrack Logic drivers/plugin).

However I have seemed to have misplaced my Boss FS-5U momentary footswitch and tried using a standard 1/4" latching footswitch from one of my Soldano amps, and it sent the the punch-in functions on the Alphatrack into a complete tailspin - literally continously punching-in & out like I was having an epileptic fit with my foot on the pedal. Same results with 3-other latching 1/4" footswitches (Fender, Randall, generic).

I tried everything I could think of including powering up the Alphatrack to recognize the footswitch, deleting Logic control surface prefs, re-installing Alphatrack, deleting/re-adding footswitch assignments in Logic, etc..

So is it Alphatrack under Logic 9? or the fact that I'm not using a momentary footswitch? I'm stumped... a complete night of recording guitar tracks wasted last night, because I couldn't get this figured out.

It seems that lately that when I select a track on the arrange page that Alphatrack doesn't completely sync with said track. On the readout of the unit it has the first track's name always but I can control for example track 5 if selected, volume only. If I mute or solo track 5 I actually can't and end up soloing track 1 (but I can adjust track 5's volume). But, if I use the track selection buttons on Alphatrack I can get to track 5 and then preform all functions. Weird. I've gone into Logic's control surface setup and deleted and reset Alphatrack there and have made sure Logic is selected in the Alphatrack control panel that runs in the background. Are there any preferences I should trash to maybe clear this up? I had a worse issue this week that I fixed by reconfiguring control surfaces within Logic but now I have this new behavior that's not quite right. Oh yeah, I'm running in 32 bit mode.

I've had the Alphatrack for little over a week now, and have had nothing but problems. I've been using Adobe Audition since Cool Edit and thats why I finally bought the AT, since AA3 is/should be natively supported.

I've reinstalled the drivers, checked the in/out midi, and external controller in Audition. I've installed, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, both the new ones and the old ones, tried all the different usb-inputs, put the CV2 file in the AA2 install folder, and all the other logical things to do, and the same issue seems to reoccur; after a couple of seconds in AA the AT goes blank, the LEDs go off and it stops responding. Then I have to "reactivate it" by clicking the "preferences" button etc. Then it works again for some seconds, or AA3 crashes. This happens on and off, sometimes it works for a whole session, but normally (90% of times ) it doesnt work. Then magically it starts working again, the day after. Calibrating it doesn't help either.
I've ruled out the grounding issue, and the AT usually work fine in Ableton Live under MCU mode . So this is kinda getting on my nerves, and I'm close to sending my AT back. Could it be related to the "Alphatrack Native" mode, or is it with Adobe? Please someone? Moderator?

Tascam announced in November the FW-1884 and FW-1802, among others, will not have Windows 7 drivers. Some of us are able to make it work using Vista drivers, but with blue screens of death upon exiting and a few other minor annoyances.

Would Frontier be able to help us out please?

Does anyone have any tips for using the Alphatrack with Cycling '74s MaxMSP? I'd like to be able to use the fader and rotary encoders in a project I'm building. I can get the fader to work just fine, but the rotary encoders don't seem to send continuous data. They send a 1 for each turn to the right and a 65 for each turn to the left. I was able to create a patch that incremented and decremented with those values, but it seems pretty kludgy. Any suggestions for efficiency and smoothness would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
